STATE planning Minister Justin Madden “cooked up” a strategy to “subvert and corrupt” the planning process for a major hotel redevelopment, the opposition has claimed in parliament.
Launching the second no confidence motion against Mr Madden in less than a year, opposition leader of the upper house, David Davis, said the minister had breached his ministerial responsibilities for “partisan political purposes”.
Mr Madden is under attack over an email accidentally leaked by his media adviser Peta Duke, which outlined a strategy for dealing with a $260 million redevelopment of Melbourne’s Windsor Hotel.
The internal memo proposed that a sham consultation process be used as an excuse to refuse the project. (Read More..)
