Govt criticised over conflict of interest issues
Victoria’s ombudsman has found the State Government mismanaged conflict-of-interest issues relating to two big development projects.
The ombudsman’s report into the development of the Kew Cottages and the St Kilda Triangle precinct was tabled in State Parliament today.
It found public officials involved with tendering for the developments did not adequately declare conflicts and failed to recognise the damage of perceived conflicts.
The ombudsman says despite this, there is no evidence that any parties received preferential treatment.
